  大作文: Large companies should pay higher salaries to CEOs and executives compared to other workers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

  1.本次考试 难度中等。

  2.整体分析:

  Task 1:柱状图(bar chart)1996年和2006年欧洲五种不同种类机动车辆使用情况变化。

  注意:1. 柱状图审题要仔细,有些同学会想当然当作静态图处理,从而全文没有体现时间变化带来的动态问题。2. 注意正文段落是否将趋势变化的信息所呈现的特点清晰展示出来。3.五种对象及两年时间比较合理的分段逻辑可以先讲1996年内的横向五种数据对比,另起一段开始体现到2006年的变化特征。相关表达:

  1. A +increase/decline steadily from +数据1 +to +数据2+ in three years.

  2. A+ start at 数据1,and then drop to the bottom at 数据2

  3. A +decrease sharply in 时间,plunging to just +数据

  Task 2 :环境类

  题目翻译:在大型公司,相比其他员工,应该给CEO和高管支付相对较高的薪水,在何种程度上你是同意的?

  该话题属于社会商业类,可能对于没有工作经历或阅历的考生来说比较难展开,且此题为同意与否类型,考生在选择观点立场上要谨慎,同时难点在于一些相关话题词,以及对于原因的阐述是否完整有说服力。以下推荐一个中立四段式的写法:

  **段:现象描述引入话题,给出观点

  According to Pareto Principle, 20% of the people own 80% of the wealth. This can be found to apply with uncanny accuracy to many organizations, where the few people, managerial personnel, are much better paid. (表态)I personally believe this phenomenon justifiable.

  第二段:让步讨论不公平一方

  1. 待遇不公平确实影响到普通员工(Certainly, the widening pay disparity disturbs ordinary workers.),应该根据工作时长及工作量来决定(They may think that everyone should be paid for the workload and the working hours)。

  2. 举例说明上一论点(Currently, in a manufacturing plant, for example, managers sit all day and sign the paper only, while workers have to do tedious physical work overtime.)

  3. 如果员工觉得受到了不公平待遇,那么工作的效率就会降低( If the work cannot be paid off well, they feel unfair, and one consequence of the unfairness is the demotivated workers and their decreasing productivity.)

  第三段:讨论另一方“有必要这么做”

  同意高管应该享受更高的待遇(However, I agree with those who argue that remuneration for senior executives should be higher.)。没有通过丰富的经验所做出的高层决定,公司很难生存(It, in fairness, matches their years of experience and a wealth of expertise, [反面烘托**层的重要性] without which hardly can these decision-makers foresee the future of the industry, integrate and harness resources, and plan the work for each sector properly.)。高薪也是一个诱饵,可以作为一种刺激,是工作更有动力(The lucrative paycheck, in another way, also acts as an incentive. With its lure, the average employees are more likely to approach their job with vigour, expecting to climb to a higher position)。

  第四段:总结

  In conclusion, it seems to me that it would be better to grant top executives the salaries commensurate with what they have done and what they are capable of. This pay-scheme is beneficial to both individual employees and organizations.
